The only way the series could really be improved was with a bigger hat, anyway.

Looked more like a Mexican Metroid to me. Not that that's better or worse than a Mexican Legend of Zelda :P

Ah, I realize the actual game type is a Metroidvania with beat-em-up elements, but the organization of the story and powerups and the general feeling of the game are very, very Zelda-ish.  I got really excited, since it's the first game I've played other than Zelda that somehow felt like Zelda ><

N-no not yet but I should fix that soon >_>

I really wish we had more Zelda-like games in the mid-Zelda style--mostly thinking Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, though Wind Waker was also great.  COME ON INDIE TEAMS GET ON IT

admittedly I have not played Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess to any appreciable degree either, so there you go

Go plaaaaay~  Let's geek out~~

No need to put on a coat though, right? I assume you can tough it out.

Or Darksiders, which is considered to be "the best parts of God of War and Legend of Zelda."

It was pretty kickass. Though Darksiders 2 had a more WoW feel.

Ah ha ha! This worked far better than I expected. My very first test run* generated something that makes me think "scribbles", and I have yet to implement multiple strokes per glyph, curves, unconnected dots, or the possibility of a closed path. Much less tweak the configuration file at all (which is to say, I haven't done anything to guide the thing toward features that look more like language than random scribbles).

*After I excised the bugs that crashed the bastard, and there were lots of those.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
