My inamorata got the big promotion at work she's been nervously waiting to hear about for weeks. Heart is full of happies for her.  :D
Your what?

I prefer that term because the situation is...complicated.

Right. I don't think I want to know.

So, I got my MRI scan results tod-- yesterday.
Was pretty cool and/or creepy, seeing all those cross-sections of my brain and eyeballs. I forced myself to look at them, even though it did make me kinda squeamish. Oh and there was nothing overly wrong up in there, which is a plus. Now I can finally get a hearing aid. :D

My brother got a laugh when I showed him the x-rays. He looked at them for a moment with a thoughtful expression, then pointed at one and said, "Pretty sure you were thinking about video games in that one."

That is an exceedingly useful term.

I was reminded of one of my favorite jokes today.
Is that supposed to be a joke? Because I just see it as how someone with no experience of the world would hear an accent from an arabic speaking country.

It's pretty much just poking fun at humans being humans because accents.

Taking this way too seriously, man. Think about how your average American or Brit would react before breakfast/coffee.

Don't forget that its over the phone as well. A bad connection can really make it difficult to understand the person on the other end, even if they have a similar accent to yours.

Reminds me of the Spanish speaking call I took once. My Spanish is rusty, but despite an American accent my Spanish is pretty dang good. I could understand her for the most part even though she was talking way too fast, and was trying to confirm what she was saying, but she couldn't understand a word I was saying. She hung up on me.

Of course, I've had people who thought I was speaking English in a face to face conversation just because I was white. The most memorable experience is when a friend and I met a lady and we talked for a good hour. When we saw her next time, she couldn't understand a word we said.

"What happened to the people I talked with the other day? They spoke Spanish perfectly!"

"That would be us, ma'am."

Apparently she thought we were locals the first time we met her. We never managed to convince her.

It's hilarious when the stereotype is reversed.

Saw Pans Labyrinth, it was a rather sad movie honestly, especially how the ending was kinda open to interpretation and I defaulted to the worst option. It was a pretty great movie though, one of the rare ones that made me shout and cheer because I got swept up in it. The beer might have helped, not sure.

Anyways, after that I saw the trailer for Machete Kills, and my mood was lifted by a factor of a billion, holy crap, so instead of doing a dark piece of art I had on my mind today, I think I'm going to go for something more energetic and cheerful, possibly bloody.
My Spanish teacher has a copy of Pan's Labyrinth, in Spanish of course.
