So I got a minute before we go off to "The Olive Tree", a restaurant. It's been a really busy couple of days, and I've yet to get a decent night's sleep, so I'm rather tired.
Let's see... what interesting stuff has happened to me on my holiday that someone on the big wide interwebs might just be interested in?
I went to see my grandmother. I was always under the impression they hated me on that side of the family, but they seem to have warmed up to me, it was rather nice to see her.
I did go clubbing with my brother, I have nowhere near enough confidence to master the dance floor, although I was coaxed into doing the proscribed dance for "I'm sexy and I know it" (it involves flexing, crotch thrusting, and butt wiggling).
Well at the supermarket there were three women wearing those conservative Muslim full body dresses. One of them, whom I guess was the youngest (it's rather hard to tell when all you can see of them is their eyes, but I think she was relatively young, and then there was her mother and a grandmother or aunt or some such). Anyway, I was kinda nervously avoiding looking at them, but I finally gave in and just decided to stare right back at her... and you know what? She was wearing eye-liner and mascara. I have no clue what to make of that but I think it's fascinating, I thought the point of covering everything except the eyes was not to look good!
I also got to see a whole bunch of the British countryside, I'd forgotten how idyllically beautiful it was. All those rolling green hills. We had to go on a bit of a road trip across the country to get to see my grandmother and my aunt, since there were roadworks on the M3, we had the GPS set to "shortest", rather than "fastest", which led to an interesting detour through Bath. Which has incredibly interesting Georgian architecture. It was basically big brown block houses as far as the eye could see.
Ok, end of rant, I think it's nearing time to pack up soon.
