I'm watching the Yahtzee review.  I had the exact same problem with the glasses.  The glasses were broken and had been repaired, she said he'd worn new ones

Ah. What better way to start the year than by buying a book for each of the coming months? Oh, that's right, buying two books for each of the coming months. Happy birthday to me. :3

No using. That's not what freedom is for.

Finished season three of Misfits, learned there will be a fourth one wooooo!!!

And I do like how short they make them, keeps it fresh and interesting while being long enough to allow you to sink your teeth into the story and see the charachters develop.

On the spur of the moment, I have decided that I'm going to learn C#.  I originally learned Java in high school and I feel object-oriented languages make more sense from a design standpoint, compared to my original plan of learning FreeBasic.  This is all in service of producing a roguelike, because I am awesome at sticking to long term projects.

Case in point, when I Googled "roguelike c++ tutorial", one of the first things that came up was the old "Roguelike Development Megathread" here on Bay12, including a post from me saying I was going to learn C++, two January's ago.

Aqizzar, I have some books to recommend if C++ is similar enough. (I haven't worked with C# at all.) Might you want them?

What can I say, it's the one thing I know I'm good at.

I'm not really sure, but thanks for the offer.  Honestly, the main reason I'm looking at C# all of a sudden instead of C++ like I was, is the somewhat well-polished IDE I found, and that C# seems slightly closer to English syntax than C++.  I imagine there's loads of differences in vocabulary, but they certainly look alike.

C# is quite a bit easier to use, but less powerful.  I've never run into any issues with the "less powerful" aspect though.  One of the bigger things is that you basically never have to deal with pointers, which are a huge pain sometimes in C++.

What IDE are you looking at?  I haven't heard of many for C# other than Visual Studio.
