By the way, is it weird to slash two characters in something that is entirely your own?
And just shipping in general.
Anyway, according to the love calculator, the best partner for the main character in this story I'm working on is a twelve year old girl who is a pyromaniac.

I will never be clean again... Never....

Three words: Snape and Ron.
Somehow, the pairing seems exceedingly popular.

Well, by standard homophobia rubrics: yeah, it's weird to have characters any more than hinted at being gay, unless you are Writing About Gayitude.  Normal shipping... eh, not that surprising.  In any case, I'd just say "go with it, and to hell with popular opinion."

I'd totally read that, if I could find people who could actually write it proficiently.  I'm so tired of reading bad slashfic that at this point, I basically don't read it anymore.

But reading bad slashfic is a form of entertainment in itself.

Cool it, wouldja?

I don't watch TV, either.  I enjoy seeing aspects of a character explored that I usually wouldn't see, and in general, if you want that then you're going to get slashfic.  That's just the way it is.

Anyway, why do you care so much?  It shouldn't be such a big deal.

My shipment of Rockstar energy drinks has arrived :D
I also have the Black Butler opening stuck in my head.

I really can't be picky about the things that make me happy.

I don't want to give you this advice, but I feel I have to. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

I also feel reluctantly compelled to mention that I'd totally read Snape/Ron slash where they're discussing advanced mathematics and occasionally talking in Polish with each other, just for the surrealism.

So I plugged in a couple of characters I forgot the first time around and it turns out that they're both better matches than the pyro girl.
First is 1% higher, but she never actually meets the protagonist, they just talk over the computer.
The second, at 4% higher is the protagonist's science teacher.
He's retired CIA and still has some connections he uses to help out the heroes in the beginning.

I'd totally read that, if I could find people who could actually write it proficiently.  I'm so tired of reading bad slashfic that at this point, I basically don't read it anymore.

Ditto that.
