Got a surprise call this morning that one of my co-workers called in sick; took their place for the day. Got some more hours for the week.

Technically this was yesterday, but someone gave me a honest-to-goodness Chick Tract while I was at work. I have never even seen a real one before and it's pretty fantastic. It's this one. I will treasure it forever.

Also, one day, I will sit beside someone on a park bench, turn to them with a shit-eating grin on my face, and ask "Say, did you ever hear the story about the time God was murdered by man?" But only if they are a Beatnik.

Yep; at least with insanity the world becomes temporarily more awesome before falling. With idiocy, it gets progressively less interesting until we are stuck in a new dark age as peasants squabbling among the dirt like chickens, fearing advancement rather than looking for it at every opportunity. Because really, if we have to go out somehow, I would much rather it be in a nuclear war with an Elder God than something completely uninteresting like slow economic decay.

A few years ago I made the mistake of noticing a car plastered with bumper stickers.  I checka'd it out only to find too late they were those bumper stickers.  I came home that night with two Chick tracks, The Beast and This Was Your Life!

I may well drop out and move in with my dad after the school year's up, or so.
Ye gods, ask me five years ago and I'd say I'd never be looking forward to leaving Hawaii and getting a job.
