It seems there was always support, it's just that all the sound gets directed to my onboard rather than ext, in this case, USB sound.

I'm still playing Mass Effect 1.

I've got the whole system sorted out. Play as soldier first- unlock things. Play as tech-soldier. Infiltrator- Kill shit. And then go into Mass Effect II as infiltrator, because the class gets way awesome.

I've got Tali and Liara for this runthrough. And I think I'll have Garrus and Wrex for the next. And then in ME II I'll probably go Archangel and Jack. Or the DLC kleptoninja chick.

Well, I got the automatic switch, but it's backwards.
That is, if I load up something in the onboard sound, and end it prematurely, it will leave the device busy, and all sound will be redirected to the USB audio.
However, Youtube, and I'm assuming all other Flash-based whatevers, will not do this, leaving me with no sound for them.
Still finagling with the modules to try and get USB audio as choice № 1.

Best part: VLC has realtime driver switching, so I can select the onboard sound and let my friends enjoy the music/anime/whatever too.

In an RP, I successfully constructed soup from an unbutchered whale chunk and salsa made from bashing my head against some peppers and walnuts (essentially a slurry of that and my blood.). Only problem was when I put the pot on the oven, It shook violently, as in, possessed violent. I had to borrow the bondage gear from a mysterious box behind the fridge to strap the pot to the stove to keep it from killing anyone.
