I don't understand the significance of this. Can you elaborate on it?

Open three tabs.

Open up this
This
And this

Smoking jacket optional.

A dark night, just like every night in Bay 12. Some fella stumbles out of a juice joint, general discussion in the air... just some suit, picking his way through the rain, and another gin-soaked evening. He tries to flag a cab but it rolls on, stopping in front of my office to let out a lone pair of gams in a red dress. There's plenty to keep a doll out late in this town, but something caught my eye... like she was missing something. Or someone.

She let herself in, carefully.
"Is this 'Sollivan and Fugue'?"

I gave a quick nod to my left, to the empty desk covered in paper. "Afraid it's just Sollivan now, miss."

"Very well, Sollivan... or should I call you Soli?"

Dames. I didn't have to know her to see where this was going. "Let's not mince words, miss. What's your trouble? The fat cats give you the drift, and your troubles got you looking for some small-time mugs to solve 'em?"

"No," she shook her head. "No, word around town is you and your partner were the best, when it came to matters of Tech Support."

"Sorry, doll. If you've got your bytes in a bungle, you're chinning to the wrong fella. I don't take on software work. Not after... not anymore."

She took a damp envelope out of her handbag, and pushed it across my desk. "Then maybe this will change your mind. Either way, IBM sends their regards."

With that, she walked out of my life just as suddenly as she'd walked in... and I didn't have to read anything to know it was going to be a long night.

I remember, years ago when I was in middle school, it took me weeks and months at a time to finish even a single book. This is because I only read for the few minutes every day that was allotted to be "Reading time" and we weren't allowed to do anything except read during this time.

I read Franz Kafka's "The Trial" in this fashion, but I must say that it didn't benefit me at all, since such a convoluted story, chopped into bits and pieces, quickly become unintelligible to my mind. I barely remember anything that happened in it, so I might as well have not have read it at all.

I used to believe that i read insanely fast, but then i realized it was just the fact that i was reading all the time.

First time I've left this country in five years. You can not imagine how excited I am.
