My mom used to make me one of these every year, for my birthday.  It's probably my absolutely favorite kind of pastry, period, and I can't believe I forgot about it until now.
I've never had a home made one before but I've enjoyed shop bought ones. Once I over did it a little and haven't felt like some in a long time.

Edit for those bellow: I wasn't going to post until I saw her avatar. Looks much nicer than the shop bought ones I'm used to. I might have to try making one myself.

Heheheh.  I'm glad to see that the new avatar is spreading so many happies.

In other news, this is one of the best days of my life.  I'm staying up a bit later so that I can enjoy it, because I want to remember this.  Really, truly remember this.

 Finally finished Metro 2033. Would have finished it much sooner if I had figured out some really obvious tricks. Got the bad ending, but I kind of like it more than the good ending, actually.

Edit: I wonder which ending will be considered canon when the next game comes out...

No birdo is pink. Yoshis come in a variety of colors including purple. the purple ones special is ingesting something and spitting out vegetables

Wasn't the original description of Birdo something along the lines of that it was a guy who thought it was a girl? Because that may have been the first transgendered character in video games...
