I just spent 20 minutes sitting on the front door step as the last fragments of dusk faded into the night, the trees shook with the wind, and thunder roared in the distance from a storm that had not yet reached us. I reached the decision that "just before a storm" is the perfect weather.

Found another way to not crash my server when loading up my character in Terraria. Required pulling a switcheroo and some empty chests for equipment swapping. Nonetheless, I have bypassed the crashing. YAY!

I have a baby deer, and, with an extremely clean old beer bottle, a three dollar nipple used for feeding lambs, some artificial colostrum, and tenacity, he could be used to draw other deer in for this November. Oh yeah, and it was probably only born about five days ago, so he's tiny and super cute.

Streaming Red Cliff via Netflix (the US theatrical version sadly, not the Chinese release). Is happy so far. The badasses are suitably badass, the epic battles are suitably epic, and the cinemtography is full of trademark sweeping John Woo shots. The pacing is a bit rushed early on, because they're trying to cram like six volumes of the Three Kingdoms saga into 15 minutes, but it seems to have slowed down as it sets up the main battle. Only real complaint is the English-language narrator who I want to kill soooooooo badly. Seriously guys...whoever taught this guy to pronounce Mandarin names? They need to be disemboweled. With a brick.

The bad part is that the first minute or so is all the English narrarator giving some backstory. I almost stopped the feed because it was so painful to listen to. Thank God the actors are just subbed.

Holy crap the battles in this movie are fun to watch. It's like live-action Dynasty Warriors. 

Although I think they made Zhou Yu a little too badass.
