I take a small amount of spiteful pleasure in feeding American spammy things reserved-for-fiction American numbers. It's almost completely meaningless, but nonetheless.

There's probably some degree of hierarchy involved, even if subconsciously, but it's mostly that I've been with my SO (female) for four years, and we live together. Whereas the "girlfriend" has only been a part of our life for about eight months and lives on her own.

As it was, work clobbered the shit out of me yesterday, so we just went out for Mexican food and margaritas, and they talked shop (they're both teachers) for hours.
