Deciding the type of game.

As stated here,I am planning a new forum game,however I have several ideas...

1:A BSF Roleplay,which would have many features such as professions,detailed ship modification,and a cash/salvaging/resource system.

2:Another BSF roleplay,with similar features as #1,but using a dice system for dealing with mid battle activities.(a little bit of RTD,a little bit of documented selection tables)

3:A Strategy game involving stations instead of ships,using a simple point based system for customizing these stations. Players join one of two teams and proceed to shell/fighter spam/outlast the crap out of the opposing team.

4:Same as #3,but with resource management as opposed to the points system. Might even include trading.

5:Same as #3,but instead is a co-op against invading space pirates and perhaps a few creatures.

6:Basically #5 with #4's changes.


The reason for asking this is I'd like to know what may be received better so that I might not waste time developing on the wrong path.

I like the look of #3 but a player could have a ship if they wanted to, that way you can have more specific goals than [survive]

Anyway, looks fun!

Anyway, looks fun!
Problem with doing ships on modes 3 and 4 is players will have no control of where they move. However 5 and 6 could be done with ships.

Hmm, 2 seems interesting, and the survival game sounds interesting as well. I accidentally voted one, so just subtract 1 from 1, and add it to 2.

Hmm, 2 seems interesting, and the survival game sounds interesting as well. I accidentally voted one, so just subtract 1 from 1, and add it to 2.

No, that's fine. I doubt 1 will win with or without my vote, and I'm fine with all the options that are winning so far, I just like RTD stuff lately.

I think that parts should be the primary resource with possibly credits as an interchange currency, but mostly parts.

Doing it as a RTD might be impossible, but I'd play either way.

Doing it as a RTD might be impossible, but I'd play either way.
If the RTD thing wins(lookin' like it) it won't be a pure RTD. Battle actions and salvage will not work that way,modifications however,will.

1, absolutly 1, I could posibly play 2 but it's only advantage is that it's easier on the GM. You could have stations in 1 and 2 as well by the way just treat them as ships that cant move.
Also, I asume this is not something that will use the ACTUAL BSF, but just an RP vaugly inspired by it (with big space ships and the same weapons and sections etc. but different mechanics)? if so then I sugest adding a bit more realistic orbital mechanics and having the insides of the ships much more detailed with rooms and such.
