I'm sorry, Davesprite. But Arquiusprite is the best sprite. No contest.

So, after touching base with a side of his personality he was sick of listening to, Dirk acknowledged AR's entirely mortal fear of nonexistence, and agreed to give him power he feared.

Then Hussie decided to make everything stupid, and Dirk (I'm going to say uncharacteristically even though he really hasn't done enough to say that one way or the other) chucked AR into the sprite anyway.  Thus damning him to a fate worse than death, by simultaneously ceasing to exist while still existing as a ridiculously fucked up parody of half of himself no longer in control of his own thoughts.  Although that might be taking things too far, since the autoresponder probably doesn't have a metaphysical presence the way all the living characters do.

All I can say is, I was actually figuring Dirk's sprite would be loaded with Equius' corpse and the Aradiabot bits.  I picked the wrong robot.  And that was an awesome TMNT reference back there.

Now then.

Let's talk about f@*#!^& horses.

Then Hussie decided to make everything stupid,
Homestuck is still a comedy, after all.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

I just think Hussie is a little addicted to the whole "throw in some ridiculous shit to balance out the heavy shit" maneuver, and it's wearing a bit thin.  It'd be nice for a serious turn in the story to reach a serious conclusion at least once.

Nah, Tavriska was a fate worse than death.  You can tell, by virtue of how death was preferaable.

Autorestronger seems to be enjoying this thoroughly.

Eh, Arquiusprite seems to enjoy his existence. Maybe AR would find being half Equius a bit weird if he had some kind of baseline of comparison for being alive, but from his point of view, this is just what it is like to be A REAL BOY. Thinking about horses and muscles and caste systems all the time. Being simultaneously repulsed and turned on by the colour red. That's how you know you're alive and not just an AI. Equius, for his part, has always wanted to have someone control him. Having his personality partially overwritten is probably pretty awesome for him.

This would be even better if ARes had started an actual conversation with Roxy immediately before prototyping

I have a feeling the fact that Dirk was creating cracks in AR's form may result in him going crazy.

I may have to start cosplaying Autorestronger instead of Equius from now on. This is absolutely perfect in every way.
