First panel: Extremely emotional and sad
Second panel: Tavros derping as hard as is physically possible

This is the first time where it doesn't really feel like the comedy is funny right after/because of the tragedy.  Karkat looks pretty messed up over all this, and it doesn't really mix well with Terezi screwing around.

I think it's the nausea-inducing dichotomy, between seeing Karkat at his most desperately heartfelt while Terezi blechs in her mouth from her imposed smooch, that's supposed to be the joke itself, not either particular panel.  That, and the ridiculous look on Karkat's face makes even his zenith of compassion a bit hard to take seriously.

What's really gonna fuck them both up is when it doesn't work.  Or worse, doesn't work like they expect.  At any rate, next panel is going to be 2x BLUH COMBO!!!

I don't like that the first kiss we see both Karkat and Terezi give has more to do with the pulse of the person they're giving it to instead of how they feel about them.

I don't have a problem with corpse smooching for dreamself revival, and I know Karkat and Terezi smooches have been implied, but I think the first one we see could have been better utilized.

As for "how they feel about them", I'm a little surprised nobody has dropped the phrase "ship teasing" yet, given that Karkat is having a much less disgusted time of smooching, specifically the one person he has never complained about.
