I'm sure Jade is the source of fucking everything up in ways other than simply not prototyping something before entering the medium. According to the trolls she is responsible for everything going wrong for the both of them so it'll have to be something larger than simply failing their own session.

Hehehe. It took me some time to realize who these people were.

And yeah, the game is already unwinnable because Jade's present for John allowed Jack Noir to seize the Black Queen's ring, kill the Black King and start the Reckoning only hours after the game started. And there's presumably something else at play here, because the kids decide to make the rift.

When PM first starts view Jade here, most likely directly after Jade's arrival in the Medium, we see a large amount of green energy, possibly indicating that Bec follows her into the medium or that his prototyping causes the machine to break down.

I wonder if this was just the result of trying to view their session after the Rift.

 The Rift happens at the end of the kids session when they decide to make it alongside the Trolls, so I don't see this as being terribly possible.
