That was actually pretty amazing to watch.
Pretty good timing too. Near the end of 6/12 on the East Coast.

Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

At first I was disappointed it was something on youtube and not the real updated.
Then I watched the video.
Updoot indeed.

yeah, now that I've watched it (bad connection) I'm okay with it not being a rickroll.
 Thanks anyway, mag.

I can see why it took so long for them to finish, I'm glad they didn't release early!  Wow!
(Besides the original teaser, which was only about a minute from karkat to the start of tavros)
Very worthy of updoot-announcing.

I saw the teaser, and I am sufficiently mindblown right now. Also, they absolutely nailed Gamzee's attack.

I'm feeling like re-reading this. Somebody help me, I should be studying ;-;
(I read a good part of it and then got bored and then picked up a few months later halfway through hivebent and then read until a little bit into act 6 after which I dropped it again)

Simply "finish" studying and then re-read.

Even if that advice came late.

We got to keep this thread alive some how.

Problem is that keeping the thread alive with out any knowing end in sight is difficult. As to when it ends:

Maybe 300 days of gigapause? Roughly 8/15?
8/16?
10/17, or one year of gigapause?
10/25?

Hopefully it comes before November. If not, hopefully before 2015.

All this talk of hope, despite the comic doing everything in its power so far to paint hope as evil.

I still stand firm in my opinion that it's 612 years.

My prediction: the update will arrive years in the future (but not many).

It's been eight months of gigapause.

I've lost track of how many times I've said some variation of, "Abandon hope."

For reasons I can't figure out how to articulate, this post is incredibly funny. I spent about 10 seconds just sitting here, laughing like an idiot. So thanks for that.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
