Anyway, I'm confused on the timing of that meeting Areana set up.
Are the traveling people still two years out? John just disappeared right after his birthday right?
But then Jake shows up, and it feels like the kids should have arrived already.

It works out because Jake's dream self is D------EAD, so he gets to visit dream bubbles while asleep. Because the Medium is based almost entirely around serendipitous coincidences, the first Dream Bubble he appeared in was one that had just intersected the one where Aranea et al. were.

So yes, the travelers are still two relative years out.

Incidentally, I think John and Jade are going to have serious developmental problems, just due to not having contact with anyone their own age other than each other. While at the crux of sexual development. I mean, I guess Davesprite is there, but he's relatively older than them, if only by a few months. How long was his timeskip, anyway?

It was a three or four month timeskip as far as I knew. Don't know if that's supported by anything in the comic, though.

Jake and Jade thought they were in communication with his grandmother and her grandfather respectively, but were actually pen-pals with each other, across the Scratch, in different universes. They were collaborating on the bunny Jade sent to John, if you recall. As for the weapons, well, anyone in the future could have placed them inside the time capsule before the meteor hurtled Skaia-wards and seeded Earth with the Frog Temple. John &co are going to be both in possession of some legendary epic weapons and in the Incipisphere pretty soon, as are Karkat and his remaining troll buddies. There's no shortage of possible explanations.

What's really unfortunate is that John never got in any kind of scrum or strife while he had Liv Tyler. Imagine the damage he could have done directly wielding her. After all, he does have the bunnykind abstratus.
