I can't fucking take on a battalion of mages and cavalry and mage cavalry backed up by six ballistae! RAEG! (Incidentally, I did just defeat them by sending in a character with high dodge to murder all of them. It was hard because I was trying to share experience with less dodgy guys.)

 I rage at myself for procrastinating on the assignment I planned on finishing this just passed weekend. I just... Gah. Why can I not concentrate? I have too much crap to put it off.

 Oh, and my father had a 'discussion' about my wollege work. And by that I mean ask me a question, take my answer the wrong way and lecture me about some random barely-applicable crap for around an hour. I happened to say that my paper would be on prison reform, and he went ballistic on how teachers are teaching students their own agendas. and how it isn't english, then the rest of the time going on about the intracasies of taking notes(Namely the key concept of reading the material and writing it down).

He somehow finds a way to make this take up an hour, mostly through repeating himself every five minutes.

Mount and Blade is making me angry.  It's simultaneously the most and least forgiving game ever.  On one hand, no matter what happens you can always claw your way back up.

On the other hand, if you get knocked out in one tiny battle, you have to do all that clawing.

Rinse and repeat forever.

I don't know how I got that one guy a long time ago.  He was awesome, huge group of Swadian Lancers, all kinds of awesome stuff.  He owned everything.

Grind the tournaments for the cash, the fights make good practice.

Anyway: STUPID TEETH, STOP NEEDING DENTISTRY. RARRG.

Yeah, I had that guy all out of whack, skill-wise, but even when I tried a better guy, it's so easy to get knocked on your face.  You try to lance a guy, miss, and he sabers you in the gut.  A lucky swing knocks you off your horse and you're left facing 20 guys on foot.

And of course, if you lose, you lose all your soldiers and have to start over with peasants who can't even fight looters without taking a bunch of casualties.

If it matters, I'm playing the 1257 mod, which changes a lot of stuff.  The tournaments are no longer random-loadout, which helps with the frustrating "Here, take this bow and fight a guy with a lance" thing, but they're still pretty annoying.

I have been grinding tournaments, but I keep losing to stupid stuff, like the aforementioned saber-gut when you barely miss with your lance.

If you keep missing with lances, use two-handed swords and axes, as they are easier to hit with while mounted.

I used to hate lances, until I did the Praven tournament (Everybody is mounted and has a lance) a couple of times, which helped me get the hang of CROUCHED DAMAGE.
