I found out about a 300 year old dragon who lives in an area named "The Pit of Faith". Now, there must be a way that will point this area out to me or do I have to look through every tile for it?

I am not sure of any mods that would help you, but when I asked a similar question, I was told to gather all relevant information related to said creature and go looking in Adventure mode.  Make sure you have all versions of the creature (and it's lair's) name.  Also make sure you look for the Civs/cities/etc that the megabeast is enemies with.

I am told that if you go to an area where the creature is known/is an enemy of, the people will eventually tell you where the lair is (probably wanting you to go hunt it down).  Once you discover it in adventure mode, I believe it becomes visible in launch mode.
