Because, to be honest, it seems wrong.  I get free content from the sites I visit, and all they ask of me in return is to see a few little adverts.  By blocking them, I lose them revenue.  I may hit a site if it's adverts I really annoying though.

Is it any different than using DVR to fast forward through commercials?  Companies continues to get more and more creative with the content and nature of their ads.  We'll probably see the same thing online.

I don't tend to use DVR, because most of what I watch is on the BBC, which has no adverts anyway.

Incorrect comparison. Unless you plan on clicking on them, they get jack squat. But even after you click on it, are you going to buy whatever it's offering?

No! I've yet to see one useful advertisement that I want to click! Let alone BUY from!

Especially if the ads are ANNOYING and IN THE WAY. If the host is putting up those shitty advertisements, he doesn't deserve money.

Actually Yanlin, I think a person can have ads on their site, and they can choose whether they get paid a certain amount per click, or for like every 10,000 times it loads.

I could be wrong though.

This is why I leave adblock disabled on the wiki.  I really need it to be there when I have a DF question.

 I have both Adblock and Noscript. Does jack squat to some ads. Not to mention I always keep the Google ads because they are never in the way and seeing products based on the content of a page is rather interesting.
