The Evony ads are a constant annoyance, they are everywhere.

The worst add experience I had though was a voice add that said something like. "Hi! My name is Heather, do you want to chat?" I was using my classmates computer in the library surrounded by people studying for the upcoming exams.  :-X

My least favourite (see : most hated) ads were the ones for "Free Smileys" or whatever, that would go "HEEEE-LLLLL-OOOO-OOOOO" at max volume whenever you mouseover them. Even if your mouse just passes over them for half a second. I generally wear my headphones with my system volume turned up and my iTunes volume turned down, meaning it would yell at me about 8x as loud as my already quite loud music. Often several times if the banner was between the navigation and the rest of the page.

Just....raaaaage.

I often do the opposite with my audio setup, with the system volume set to as low as I can get it and all other applications set to as high as I can. I do this simply because even in these days, game and software developers don't always add a mute button.

 My least favorite add? Well, before all the evony shenanigans FlyFF had similar adds, just less cheap looking.

Quoted for truth. Firefox with the Adblock addon is very useful, I've had it since I got tired of sound ads. No more annoying banner ads! (No commenting on stealing. If site owners wanted me to click their ads they wouldn't allow ads to be as annoying as possible.)

It doesn't take out the Google "recommended" sites while browsing though. A few months ago while Googling Dwarf Fortress I saw one for something along the lines of: "Very complex MUD! Difficult, counter intuitive interface! Play today for free!"

I regret not clicking it.

We just don't like some images popping up on our browser. And, in the case of the more annoying, sounds popping up.

 And Google Ads reflect ones search history/contents of the site the ads are on.

Wow, I'd seen that last add but didn't realise it was for civony, I mean the ones before had been bad but that was a massive drop.

Also I can't wonder if that last add wont hurt them more than help them, anyone who clicks on that is going to be expecting at least semi nudity and if they don't get it they aren't going to stick around.
