Celebrities die all the time mostly because there are tons of celebrities (Have you seen the show Dancing with the Stars? It takes very little to be a celebrity)

So likely dying celebrities are just "In" right now.

News: "Hmm we need a way to get more ratings. What to do what to do"
Randomguy: "I KNOW! Lets report that MJ is dead again!"
News: "Holy cow your on a roll, what else what else?"
Randomguy: "Uhhh... Report on another celebrity?"
News: "There are no dead celebrities"
Randomguy: "Then report on some people as if they were celebrities"
News: "Thanks Randomguy! You always know how to fill out Neonivek's stories"
Randomguy: "All in a days work, now if you excuse me I have to go tell Ben and Jerry to disguise brownies as icecream"
