The game being hard and challenging.

Surviving winter being an accomplishment again.

Ah... Yeah. Right now, everything is SO easy it isn't even funny. Goblin armies come two or three times before giving up and retreat after a few (VERY few) casualties, Megabeasts are cheaper than ever (The multiname hydra who was uncounscious when it arrived on my map because one of it toe were missing... what the fuck ? A giant monster who killed several people, falling on the groud due to the pain caused by a cut toe ?), food is ridiculously abundant (and expensive when it come to selling it).... If you don't take into account Lava and Water mistakes, nothing will trouble you anymore.

Oh, also, I'm looking forward to the new ways of organising your fortress (burrow for instance). I like to think at my fortress like a living, nearling organic structure, with the dwarves making it live, and it sure can help.

The last part of that reminds me of the Discworld book Reaper man. In it, due to the local breaking down of reality, a creature explicitly described to be a parasite to a city, appears. Can you guess what form it took?

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Been a while since I read that one but... didn't it start out as snowglobes that grew into trollies then congregated in a single place until an entire supermarket was born. It propagated by attracting people who took and left the trollies all over the place, so new supermarkets could grow.  :D

For me I'm looking forwards to more challenge, raising the dead (And blighting the landscape from my evil tower) and the underground cavern system.

I'm looking towards religion, magic to a degree, gods, temples and all that jazz. I want fanatics and blessings.

As the poster above me said, raising the dead and blighting the landscape's fun and all, but I want powerful godly magic; I don't want mana, manak, magik, or any other funny spelling of the word. I'd like to see magic implemented in a way like gods granted you powers and you just used them on a piety based system.

Well treat me like the sea oh so salty and mean, A-ha-ha! A-ha-ha!
Let's shake hands if you want but soon both hands are gone, A-ha-ha!
Cut me down like a tree like the lumber or weeds, well discard who you please like the leaves off a tree. Drag me out of the sea and then teach me to breath. Give me forced health till I wish death on myself. Ah! Ha! Ha!
March on! March on! March on! March on! MARCH ON!
