No,  allegiance is more recent, I played that too. It's not really physic based IIRC, but It was pretty fun and very strategic.

The game I'm talking about is blocky as hell, pretty sure it's quake 1 based. The player base was pretty small so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't ring any bells.

There was this one game I played, like, ten years ago. I don't remember much, but here's what I do:

(note that none of this is object, I could be remembering wrongly on any one of these)

It was a turn based rpg, and I believe your partner was a man with a rather large build. At the beginning you had to fight your way through some building with catwalks and stuff, but then it started to explode or something and you had to escape. I seem to recall it was 2 disks, and it was a playstation or ps2 game, I don't know which.

I feel like it may have been a final fantasy game, but I don't know.

I realize that this is not much info to go by, but I don't have the best memory, and it was so long ago I wouldn't remember much even with a good memory.

Edit: Looking through a list of FF games, I now highly doubt it is one (though I suppose it still could be)

Or maybe there's a god who's just completely insane and sends you to Detroit, Michigan in a new body if you ever utter the name "Pat Sajak".

Except it sounds exactly like the beginning of FF7.

There was this one game I played a long time ago in 1998.It was a dos game or windows 3.1. It was a top down perspective with you controlling this character, the game had a medieval fantasy feel about it, the sounds were really weird but in a good way, you'd collect stuff and it would make this funny notification, lol I don't remember much else, it was an RPG though. The name of the game was one good short word I've forgotten like four or five letters. Something along the lines like Elfup, or it may have begun with a 'D'. I remember walking through cities.

There was this other game I think, Sierra made it but I can't find any record of it. I think it was an educational game where you race these other guys and it had a really interesting art style. It was a competition where you had to do these really in-depth unique mini-games along the way which some would have an educational aspect about them; there were certain playable characters in it and you could have more than one player, I remember it was really fun. And also there were vehicles.

The last one I remember is one of those typing games, you play a Tribalman and you would have to solve puzzles with Tigers there would be this raft drifting through the level that you would need to be on before it left, and at the end of the map you had to type out something in order to proceed. Edit: This one is Yobi's Basic Spelling Tricks, or Spelling Jungle.

I can try to remember more aspects about these games, but it would be really cool if I could find them again and see them as I've grown.

Also does anyone remember a CD called 101, or 100 adventures in heaven?

Could be Exile? If so you might want to look for Avernum, which is a remake but with less shitty graphics.

Not much to go on, but could be Quarky & Quaysoo's Turbo Science.

There was this educational game that my mum bought for us, which had several different games you could play in it, in one you had these little creatures distort or add to a picture to make it look the same as the one on the other side, and, upon successful completion, a green man would say things like "You're a digital Degas!" and things like that. another one that stands out in memory was one where you made trades with these animals from around the globe, like "Sheila, from Australia" (a koala) and a giraffe from Africa (whose name i can't recall).

Hope that's enough to go on.

EDIT:Oh, yeah and it came out in the 90's (as in you could play it on win/98)

Back in the day, sega game gear.
I used to play on this game. Im not sure what it was called. I think you play some kind of adventurer. Top down view, every time you played it was different (mystery dungeon style). I never knew what to do so all i did was run arround chopping down trees, killing things and collecting bread. Most of the time you had to chop down trees to beable to move around.

There was another which i think was on sega megadrive. Platformer, you play as a knight. I remember one boss being really easy to defeat if you just stand at the edge of the screen and 'spin the sword', which was basically swinging the sword in a circle in front of you damaging anything that walks into it.

Oh yeah, it definitely was. I guess for some reason my brain decided I had never played FF7, so I didn't bother to check that one...?

That's definitely it; thanks.

The first game turned out to be God of Thunder, by Adept Software, (1993).

There was this game I remember playing a demo a long time ago. You basically built customized flying islands/airships and fought other flying islands. Anyone know something like that?

I don't recall much customization, but how about NetStorm: Islands At War? It's the only old game I can really think of where you built stuff on flying islands.

99% certain netstorm isn't what's being asked about. There was a circa-90s action-ish game that actually had you fighting flying islands in a kind of first/third person view, iirc. Never actually played it, but I saw a few ads and suchlike. Can't remember the name, and I've been trying to for years now, though not actually going and looking for it

Netstorm's all kinds of awesome, though. Free nowadays too, I think.

E: Might be Stratosphere.

You are sent to an unknown planet and have to survive by kidnapping local creatures and manipulating them to do stuff. Includes building and all that jazz.
I remember crabs. Lots of crabs.
