I very, very dimly remember a game a friend showed me a good few years back. I think it was somthing along the lines of running a viking village, and all that I recall with any clarity was some sort of quest or somthing where a guy needed some mead, and I remember that you could find chests around the map, some of which contained guys with bows. The graphics were a bit cartoony, I think, and it was isometric. I'm not getting my hopes up, but anyone got any ideas?

Cultures 2

Wikings, mead quest in tutorial, warriors and potions hidden in chests. I remember the game cuz I loved to play it :P

Bingo! Many thanks.

Taking a shot in the dark here as all my searches have turned up nothing.

I'm a long time lurker, and sometime back around May 2009 (I think?) I read about an MMO, visited the site, looked around enough to know I wanted to do it but also that I couldn't run it at the time. Some friends and I were having a discussion about game design and it piqued my memory and now that I want to find it again, this is all I remember.

Things I'm sure of:
- It was definitely an MMO, obviously.
- It was described as being explicitly for the Explorer gamer archetype
- It wasn't randomly generated; everything was hand-crafted and if memory serves it was supposed to have an impressive amount of landscape.
Things I'm not so sure of:
- It was fairly new as of May 2009, maybe in open beta
- I'm fairly certain it was set in the Age of Sail and involved ships in some way. (and no, it wasn't Uncharted Waters)
- I think there was a player run economy thing going on with possible basebuilding
- I could swear that the name included the words 'Sea' or 'Age' (neither of which is helpful, I admit). I think there was a predominant vowel sound in the name at the least.

Vague, I know, but if anybody could come up with something based on that it's ya'll.

Uncharted Waters Online?

And now to ask.

I don't know what the game is called nor much about it. But I remember it being almost like a half strategy half Rpg. There were Dark Elves that could ride spiders, They also had a Half-Female Dark elf half Spider. I guess they'd be drows from what i've read.
There were Trolls/Orcs that collected bones as resources. Atleast what PCGamer said when I read it like 2006 or 07.
There were also Humans that had one riding a ... Griphon. I think. And that they had a dragon-thingy on their Banner.
There were also a picture of a Templar going into third person view and battling with the other NPCs... Point-N-Click style.
Then there were Dwarves that had a bit bulky units. One of them were a drummer and the other had one of those gladiator sticks with puffs on both sides (But I guess that they were rocks) ((Those that I know of))

Anyone knows it at all?

A small, around 1997 or so made/releaed game. Made by one guy, if I recall...

It is a tetris like game, were blocks of color fall from the sky and you can arrange it to create units, like soldiers, archers, dragons, golems, necromancers... and so on that would appear at the button of the screen, fighting the units the other player summoned in that manner. You could pick your wizard/summoner/castle at the start and play against a human or ai... very pixly.

Possibly Battle for Middle Earth 2 (I distinctively recall things like spider-people in it). But that didn't have gryphin riders and I don't think the orcs collected resources at all. Perhaps one of the Spellforce games?

Naah. I've played both Spellforce 2 (Not the first one though) and BFME2 and the first one. None of them. But I think the Orcs were infact trolls, the humanoid kind that's pictured with tusks. I remember their buildings looking like Tusks though. The most distinctive thing in the PCGamer I read about the game was the Templar, It arrived in atleast 2-3 pictures.

It is actually called Siege ;)

Good luck with finding it, though. With just such one common word...

Ah, but you did not think of me and my google-fu. You'll probably need both links, first has a download to Siege!, second is a download of some missing dll file.

not a game but a utility used by many gamers.

it's an application that shows how much space everything on your computer uses and allows you to uninstall/delete it even if windows won't. I think it was green and white and might have had "tree" or "branch" in the name.

I really appreciate any help in this matter guys.

I believe the program you are referring to is TreeSize. I use it myself. :p
Free version: http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/
You don't miss out on much functionality if you don't opt to buy the professional version, just some bells and whistles. The free version serves its purpose.

Kind of a strange request, looking for a very trivial game which has probably seen many incarnations (I played it on the PalmPilot, heh). There are around four types of squares (different in color/shading), and clicking on a group will clear that square and any adjacent squares of the same type. A single lone square, however, cannot be cleared. The more squares that you eliminate with one click, the higher score you receive. The ultimate goal is to clear the board, but this rarely happens because you're almost always left with a few single squares that have no adjacent squares of the same type, so you're out of possible moves.

I might have asked this before, but there was an SNES game where you played Michael Jordan, and some evil scientist has kidnapped the rest of the 199x Chicago Bulls, and you had to save them. I'm pretty sure the first boss was a guy made of basketballs, and I believe there were levels where you were riding a train, beating the shit out of reporters. Your main weapon was a basketball(with a variety of special ones, like a boomerang one, and a bowling ball), and certain things like checkpoints and kill-all-enemies-instantly powerups were baskets you had to dunk to get.
It was both kinda stupid and awesome at the same time.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Michael Jordan - Chaos in the Windy City.
