Huh, a Ninedots post. Long time no see; welcome back. ^^^

Also Rumrusher's art earlier of the spiderlady and the boogeyman is adorable and looks like concept art for Monsters Inc. or something.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Genned a world for ~550 years, high numbers of civs and sites. Turned on site deaths in Legends Viewer; there were a series of Elven areas that had been caught in battle-limbo for hundreds of years. The White Tusks had aroused the ire of a human and goblin civilisation, who took turns every year pillaging their sites. Seriously, this string of areas had been pillaged 800+ times each, with the humans and goblins arriving at the same time every year to do it again. By the end I like to think it wasn't even soldiers being sent on these 'pillages;' it was like a tradition or history lessons for the young ones of the civ to crow over their enemies' graves. There were no elves left in any of these areas and very few animals, with thousands of deaths associated with them in total.

At least I thought they were empty, until...

The last elf at one of the sites had hundreds of kills. He single handedly defended his home long after all his family had died, wielding nothing but a boning knife. He lost his arm in one of the earlier attacks when fighting an established military commander from the human civ, but managed to live on. He also duelled several night creatures and even lost an eye to one, but always managed to escape alive. I hopped into adv mode as a mere peasant of the last surviving White Tusk settlement, gritted my teeth through the excruciating loading times of this busy world, and eventually managed to track him down by shouting my way through the site until I got a response, and then searching through the trees for the living legend.

I asked him to join me. He said no. I danced.

Then I deleted the world.

Let's just call him Snake.

Godspeed, Elven Snake Plisskin.

I'm just weirdly particular about having only one world at a time because I like to get really invested in its legends, and then build forts or adventurers around the narratives I find. So that world was cool, but it was nearly unplayable, and it was only after I deleted it that I thought it might have been worth saving purely for legends sharing purposes. Ashes to ashes, deletes to deletes; so sayeth the cult of DEL.

You should have at least uploaded it to DFFD for the enjoyment of others if you planned on posting about it.
That's just teasing. :(

So I guess this is nothing new, but it's still funny.  I lost it when the vampire accused me of bullying him.
On the one hand I like the tolerance people have towards friendly neighborhood vampires.  On the other hand I miss the old days when I could go around killing vampires without having to worry about people having a problem with it.

They just lack any opinion about killing an enemy of their group or their entire civ. I ask about the reputation of a forgotten beast and they tell me it's a dangerous animal. I'd say so, it destroyed an entire city! If I tell them I killed it, I get apathetic response: "Oh, well that's not a megabeast, is it?"

Two things can get you positive reputation: Kill something as it attacks people in a populated area, and save children. Both only net you reputation in the place where you did it, though, and saving children is currently bugged.

People need to understand that when people say "it was inevitable" you still get the hero reputation. They just dont have a response, talk to them afterwords and you are  a hero.

killing beasts still makes it just like it always did.

Vampires are an edge case though.
but hill titans for example, work fine.

This WILL be better in the next version though as-well.
