Note: It's not "they", it's "he".  Like Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft is entirely the work of one guy.

On his devlog, he posted a video of some kind of resource management test.  Every block he dug out dropped little flashing collectible doodads, and he could only place as many blocks as he'd collected doodads for.  That's all though.

Just like DF!

each one of those doodads is a minature TARDIS, encapsulating all the material from a block into a neat little box.

Replace 6112 with the port listed in the properties.

A shame the official forums have vanished with no real explanation. Sure they were not particularly amazing forums, but they had many topics on editing minecraft maps and official threads for such editors.

There's not one.  It's a very elaborate Javascript app played in your browser.  Google "minecraft" and the frontpage will ask you to play single or multiplayer.  Multiplayer, and saving singleplayer maps, needs an account, but it's free.

Ah, its begun.

Its rather odd seeing the intermingling of people around various indie games. M&B, DF, Wurm online and various other smaller games like minecraft and infinity etc. all seem to attract the same kind of people, and i see many of you on multiple forums.

Yes.
But it's pretty cheap right now, so I'd go for it if possible.
Also, It's been suggested it could be a 3D Dwarf Fortress...

Duke, ive been on the IRC, the guy hosting the forums (a guy called citricsquid) has not enough monies.

and it COULD well be a 3d dorf fortress, theres a lot being developed it seems, Programmable blocks (Drawbridges!) are set for development and everything!

Survival goes online to paying customers THURSDAY!

also, i think only Freebuild is "free" when the Survival pack comes out.

check the Devlog and IRC for more infoes.

Ah, thanks. There was really nowhere I could really check and their IRC is always talking about Dwarf Fortress every time I go on.
