Millenaire, I feel compelled to help them build up.

Totally gonna nuke their village at some point though.

there is this program I'd like to share, it's called 'magic launcher', installs mods without messing up the jar.

it has a little bug: it says 'no forge' even with the mcforge installed; worked great to install and quickly resolve buildcraft/industrialcraft stuff without messing with zipping and unzipping jars.

also, it detects problems before they happens (saving me to investigate an incompatibility just stating that optifine wasn't compatible before launching minecraft). doesn't check for conflicting ids (installing finite liquid mod crashed minecraft without notice)

Unless you spawn in a swamp, then you've got all the rubber you could ever want.

? I'm looking all around for rubber trees but nothing.

edit: according the craft wiki, every generator has the base generator which uses the re battery which requires a copper insulated wire that requires rubber; rubber is produced from resin extracted from the treetap from a rubber tree.

now, where I get a rubber tree? maybe I just can't get them apart from the other? other ways?

Swamps are the main biome they spawn in, just scour it and you have a pretty good chance of finding a few.

Yeah, like merchant says they are pretty much all in swamps, there is a small chance to find them elsewhere (but its not really worth looking for them unless your in swamps), so just wander around until you find a swamp.

If you have redpower world installed, the super mega-giant trees count as rubber trees, and you can tons and tons of rubber from them.

You need to find IC rubber trees in order to make an extractor to get rubber from the RP ones though.

do cables work like rl? can I attach a lot of consumers on the same cable? how does starvation work? consumers just are all slower, only the first works, none works?

Pretty sure they work based on how close they are to the power source (eg. you can power the first two and the third is half powered, or you can power only part of the first one).
Yes, you can attach as many machines as you want to a single cable, but after every 5 blocks away from the source a copper cable takes uses a extra eu per tick (and a starting machine typically uses like 2 or 3 eu per tick).

Using a generator you can basically power all the starting level machines at the same time, but building a batbox to store the energy asap is highly recommended.
But, if you don't have a generator or are out of fuel you can use redstone to power your machines directly.
EDIT: fixed the grammer in my post *grumble grumble grumble*
