Have there been any secret Friday updates the last 2 weeks? I heard something about biomes being implemented.

Nope. Biomes are due out as part of the Halloween Update, though.

If there HAVE been updates, then they've been REALLY secret.

He's still searching for an office, but most of the paperwork seems to be done. Also, he's probably holding off on updates till the big update on October 31st. So, we can hopefully expect some less bugs with all the new features.

He killed it. He killed it for me.

I'll never be able to enjoy that again.

EDIT: Soul, your walls are all cut-up in the isometric maps due to the way corner-corner interactions are currently implemented.
You might want to build up an inside block on your diagonal sections.
I don't wanna do that because of the silly map. I'd rather have the dude who made the program actually do eet right. =p
It's not the program doing it wrong.  Walls are not made with point-to-point connections like that.  It would cease to be a wall.
In Dwarf Fortress, point-to-point walls like that aren't walls at all.  Just because Minecraft doesn't let you move through them does not make it a good practice :P

Also, Dropbox appears to be down at the moment, so I'm reconsidering that offer of dedicated webspace :P

Edit2: Oh jay, is there a goal for your donations? Like, amount-wise? How much a month are the types of servers you're looking at?
I'm really not sure yet.  On one hand, I could build a server PC and run it from my home, which would be a one-time expense, but be much easier to maintain, but on the other, I don't exactly have the best internet connection...
I was looking at a server that would run about $240 annually, but...

I don't see how. It works in the game (which is what matters) for pretty much everything (including sparta). You cannot walk through them, cannot see through them, water/lava wont flow through them, light wont slip through them, and you can't interact with something behind them. If you go up high, you will see it just fine as a solid wall. The only issue is that map program not rendering them right. =p

Jay, I have quite a few spare computers and a fast internet connection once I get back out of the monastery, you'll be welcome to set up a server on it and admin it if you want. (Probably on the same computer I ran the old bay12 Minecraft server on) I just have no time to admin or take care of all the fiddly configuring so if someone else could do that it'd be great.

Unfortunately that offer is a few months away :P But I'd let you know when I get out.

Jay, I hope your server will be up soon.

And Kael! How's it going over there! :D

Been going good - Chanting, meditating, avoiding mountain lions at the forest monastery. Haven't played any minecraft or games though. I think these ancient bricks would explode if I tried running that much java on it :P

Been reading notes online though pertaining to everything. I actually had some fun ideas about a Bay12 initiative with either a freelancer server running flak88, evochron mercenary, or some other multiplayer space sim we could all get into.

Nice!  Yeah, let me know - a VNC service, provided it runs on startup, would allow near-full admin control from anywhere in the world - more than enough for me to get Jaycraft running on it, provided at least two open ports (one for VNC, one for the server)

Now, for my question. They let you look up about how to properly murder kittens and create machines to systematically trap, breed, and murder mermen for their bones in a monastery?
