I've made the very unfortunate discovery that around Christmas time, the official Dwarves vs Zombies server shut down. Seems there's only one unofficial server still running it, and I found it completely abandoned.

I have been adding my own shoddy additions but the main on is far away so that no one will see it unless they come visit me

It's a smallish one. The intention is to turn it into a sort of fortified island with a number of artificial islands and such around it connected to the main one.

Just to give you a scale of the island. Not super huge, but as I said I'm planning on extending it with little islands. I think I might add small terraces to give it a bit more room as well as something of a 3D effect. Right now I need to excavate a shitload of dirt to fill it though.

Nice job on the wall so far. And trust me I understand the plait about dirt, my island in the other server needed like over 5000 blocks, so I understand the grind of getting dirt, but I had some other people storages to help reduce the annoyance (thank you again playerDeer)!

I wish you luck on your island, as much as I would enjoy helping I am not really good at architecture so I probably wouldn't be that much help but I will keep you posted if I ever feel like helping out if you still want it then

but I would love updates on how it grow and goes, I am very much a fan of the making new smaller island to help bolster it size, probably what I am gonna do with my floating island ( PANDA PARADISE HERE I COME).

I have been trying to find a good modpack to get into for a while.

I loved skyfactory 3, lots to do, and the tubes and automation scratched the industrial itch I get for games like factorio, while the many types of progression always gave me something to do if I got bored of a current task. Plus, towards the end, I really loved generating the random dimensions and messing around with then.

I am not taking very quickly to skyfactory 4, for whatever reason, and started looking at some other mod packs. Sevtech ages and FTB: Interactions are two I am looking at, but I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on those, or any others, that I might like.

Enigmatica 2 Expert (or Expert Skyblock) is the other majorly popular expert pack right now. It might have slightly less of a "factory" feel though, because everyone I know who plays it makes frequent use of compact machines. The machines themselves will have your usual processing chains within them, but you only see that when you're inside the machine building or tweaking it. Outside in your base, it ends up just a single block taking things in and pushing things out, so it doesn't leave as much of a factory impact aesthetic-wise. Of course, you don't need to put things in compact machines, but with the amount of parallelization you need and the sheer amount of stuff you need to automate, base sprawl gets... excessive.

There's Omnifactory that's released more recently. Gregtech New Horizons, or Gregblock (slightly more forgiving early game + skyblock variant). Though I haven't tried any of those yet.

Mech and Magic, is a decent mod pack except for the vampires perhaps, but since it has an Official Server on the main menu i play on that most days.

Regrowth, an old 1.7 pack, is still fun as ever tbh. It's a bit heavy on the agricraft but you literally grow your own resources. It's also a Hardcore Quest mod so you get a bit of structure and reward for completing tasks.
