Yeah. It'll be a mix of complaints about what didnt get in *coughbugfixescough* and what did get in and about new bugs and such. And then it'll die again.

Hmm, been a good 6 months since I played MC. I heard there's been quite a few updates :) Anything solidly good?

Also, seems all my B12-affiliated MC servers are down or changed IPs.

I don't think I have a village anywhere on my map. :( I've gone all over trying to find one but havn't seen a single house. I have four emeralds too!

To take out my frustration I dug a little hidden base under my infinite water supply and laughed evilly for a few minutes.

I'm really hating the "SSP is now SMP" change. The little fraction of a second where a block reappears after you kill it, the spiders that lag through my walls, etc etc. I'm considering downgrading to a version before that change.

They apparently plan on doing optimizations for 1.4

Which is pretty dumb IMO. That's like taking your front door down to replace it, before the replacement arrives.

 I'd imagine various design bottlenecks get in the way of getting everything done. And they did do a ton of optimizations, just not all the ones they want to do before release.

Logic dictates that one delays the release in that case. Rather than rendering the game unplayable for a portion of the fanbase.

From the start, Minecraft's creation has been done under the Release Early, Release Often philosophy.

Why would you expect that to change now?

Yes, to be fair, Minecraft development has never been known to be... smart.  Apparently releasing a broken thing and apologizing, is easier than apologizing for releasing a fixed thing late.

Well, on the topic of SMP lag...

I can't STAND SMP. I love playing with other people, but god, admins and moderators are usually self-righteous 12 year olds who only TMI stuff ingame to fuck with players, and never actually do modding/admin-y roles.
