I'm relatively new to MC (well, I've had it for years, but never really played that much of it.)  So...is there any reason for me to play single-player 1.3.2 vanilla, rather than getting the latest snapshot and playing that?

The snapshot is less stable, but if you're okay with encountering the occasional fun glitch (or awful CTD) then I'd recommend playing the snapshots. You'll be hip to the kids!

Cool, thankee, I'll do that.  I'm fine with crashes. 

Wow, lots of new stuff since I last played.  Maps?  Enchanting?  Wolves?  NPCs?  This is all new stuff to me.  Heck, I think I only ever played once with the hunger meter.  Hmm.  This could be interesting.

Normal minecraft gets pretty boring soon for some people, so if you are playing with the snapshot the chance of a server is lower and modders dont bother updating to a snapshot.
We have a dedicated moddding thread and forsaken hosts a modded server. (the server is pretty much dead atm tough. Hopefully it will relive when all mods update)

   Don't know if anyone will be interesting in this but I did a video of me working on some ideas for an adventure map that I will get to making "eventually". If you want to check it out Here it is. Just to note the first ~8 minutes are dark but I fix that(the settings where at default and thus gloomy lighting), also if anyone wants to comment on the things I have I would be glad for any tips or whatever you can provide.
