We thought it was airflow (which does unfortunately still have a few bugs) that was hanging everything.

Wierdest airflow bug I encountered was when I opened an airlock and go slammed backwards inside the station.

They stop plasma even if you are not wearing a oxygen tank.

Only in limited amounts, though, a major leak can overwhelm the mask's capabilities.

I always wear a surgical mask as a doctor (and sometimes hand them out to certain people depending on the situation).

I always found it odd that a gas mask does not have any built in filters... It should be able to protect -something- right?

It did protect agienst plasma, before contamination.
The main problem was that the plasma would generally be in much greater density then O2, making it impossible to breath
