This dwarf puts Ingish to shame
« on: May 06, 2009, 04:02:26 pm »

I set him to spar, and he kills everybody he spars with. My fortress was happy with a strong military and economy. After a while, the population was down by half with most dwarves dying from melancholy. I didn't realise this until later. Afterwards, I took him out of the military and set him to mining. He dug out a neccessary channel to let magma out controllably, but he dug wrong, caused a cave-in, burned himself to death, and flooded part of my fortress. Then, a fire imp escaped and made it to the surface, whereupon he set fire to the map, killing all of my dwarves. Just before the last one died, immigrants came, along with the king, who then all got set on fire from the incoming bush fire. Congratulations, dwarf stupidity * 10.

Wow, sounds strong.  Couldn't you have just stationed him out in the open?

My guess is that it was an elf in disguise. Set on the destruction of the Dwarven race. My suggestion: apply magma. Lots of magma.

Isn't that what happened?

Impressive and sobering.

Who or what does "Ingish" refer to?

It's a dwarven name, but a Search turns up 4 pages of threads with different Ingish'es.   (aside from "extingish", "distingish" and "yo Ingish b bad")

Ingish was a dwarf that kept claiming food in someone's dining room and then never ate any of it, passed out, and dropped it around him.  When he'd wake up it'd all be rotten, so he'd go get more, ad infinitum.

No, no. That would be Ignis. He is now dead, along with his atomic structure.

He had to dig a wall and 3 channels. He dug the wall, and proceeded to work on the channel, but got burninated. The magma flooded the fortress.
