Oh my
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:40:02 pm »

I had a Dwarf gathering sand into a pig tail bag the other day.  I pressed v to view him, I felt like checking what skills the Peasant had.

And get this, even though the Peasant was in a large room of sand, next to a Glass Furnace, gathering sand, it said he was DRINKING.

So I thought perhaps I paused the game right as he was done gathering sand, and was going to go get a drink now.

But nope, I unpaused the game, and watched him sit there with his bag of sand.  After a few seconds, I guess he was done drinking it, cause he takes the bag of yellow sand back to the stockpile, and proceeds to get another bag for more gathering.  He never went to the booze stockpile.

And according to his thoughts, it was delicious sand.

Urist McSandDrinker: Damn, it was a mirage.

But really, your dwarves drink sand now?

Apparently this one does.  I'm going to assume it was some kind of bug, rather than an insane Dwarf.  But you really can't tell the difference.

You're being unreasonable zchris. Let's make a list to try and clear this up.
Taking a nap while on fire? Dwarfy.
Throwing newborn babies at goblins? Dwarfy.
Hammering a bonecrafter because you couldn't produce 2 bismuth items? Dwarfy.
Tearing the pants off your sparring partner and engaging a megabeast with them? Dwarfy.
This is a topic about drinking sand, which was determined to also be dwarfy.
Making sense? NOT DWARFY.

Also, Phazer: no the bug that made the dwarfish in dwarves was place just being tools in bug. bananarama ding dong.

This bug needs to get fixed or we will see something like this.

If only there was an area that had enough z-levels of sand, I would totally dig out a sand castle.

If this all doesn't fix it, your dwarfs are lazy. Apply magma.
"And thereafter, all dwarven children were taught to mind their stools, lest the toilet-fiends snatch their souls from their bottoms"
Try rubbing a cat on it, that seems to help.

This bug needs to get implemented so we see something like this.

Urist McDorf cancels Repel Siege: Eating Sandcastle

Urist McDorf has been happy lately, he has enjoyed a fine meal.

Fixed.

You're sure you don't just have two peasants with very similar names? That's too weird...
