That would be an interesting feature: a RAW that allows certain "hero" creatures to be genned with the world or during worldplay with certain names and certain stat progression trees.  That way, you could ensure, for example, that no matter how many times you gen your world, there will always be an Armok, Dwarven god with the Blood domain.

or a David Bowie: Goblin King and lord of the Guild of Calamitous Intent.

It makes sense to me if they're called "dogs" more because of their use and behavior than any biological similarity. That happens sometimes.

And yeah, they don't look THAT ferocious, but it was a muppet movie for crying out loud. Anyone who's seen enough 80's family adventure movies with muppets in them knows that they tended to go for that strange combination of "cutesy" and "nightmare fuel for kids". Like that scene where the weird pink jive-talking fluffy guys keep throwing their own body parts around and trying to take off Sarah's head.

That's mostly because the most hardcore of WoW players are culturally illiterate and associate everything from WoW with WoW and nothing else, even if it came from something else and was shameless shoehorned in.

Really, saying something like that is just insulting the entirety of the people who play the game.  They aren't all idiots.  Just like you can't say all DF players hate elves.

Seriously though, it's irritating when I just want to watch the damn video for Tunak Tunak Tun and the youtube comments get spammed up by WoW players thinking that the frigging dance actually comes from that game. Same with the other eight billion geek references in that game.


At any rate, I'm really hoping beak dogs in the next version have hair on top of their heads and green skin, for reasons that should be obvious.
