What makes werewolves heal faster?
« on: February 15, 2009, 07:23:50 pm »

I want to make my megabeasts heal faster, and I've heard werewolves can do that, but I can't find anything in the raws that looked like it would do it.  Is it hardcoded?

Pretty sure your sources are wrong.
I've never heard of werewolves healing faster then anything else before.
Never.

i'm pretty sure the df wiki page on werewolves says they do. which is another case of the wiki sucking.

You know, one of those curious facts about wikis is that they can be edited. (You know, if you wanted to.)

Yeah, the wiki claims they regenerate fast.  For all I know that might have been true in early 2d versions, when a lot more stuff was hardcoded.  I'd recommend someone take it out of the wiki myself...and then if anyone figures out that they DO heal faster, well, they can explain how/why.  :P

How is it that Megabeasts super-regenerate, if they do (which I've heard; esp. Colossi)? Is it in the [MEGABEAST] tag?

as far as I know, the Bronze Collosi regenerating bruises incredibly fast has to do with it's metal matgloss properties... I could be wrong though.

And yes, I don't think werewolves currently have that ability in DF, though blood sucking may have some healing effects for monsters that do those.

Yo Remalle they don't heal faster but make their damblock a postive 5 and they are pretty tough.I lost about 20 forts when I modded them in as a ambushing civ.

Ah, yeah.  Healing times are something vaguely exponential as you've certainly noticed in your own guys... a gray wound may heal in three weeks, while a red wound may stick around for three years before even turning yellow.  Surely a minimum-damage gray wound would heal crazy fast compared to a bigger gray wound.

So if a monster is hard to even injure to yellow, it'll feel like it heals stupidly fast--because you only give it the wounds that heal quick.

Meh.  That'll teach me to trust the wiki.  Also I've never actually met a werewolf so I wouldn't know first-hand how fast they heal...

if i started editing things on the DF wiki, i would probably never have time to play DF.
