... Whenever my friends ask what I'm doing on an instant messenger service, they follow up with, "Wait, never mind. I know what you're doing."

My friends know me too well.

Tried out Perfect World.  Apparently, the capitol of the Untamed is stuck between two gigantic chunks of plateau, and my first thoughts: "try building ON the plateau next time, it saves a lot of time with pathfinding."

...I actually like playing a dwarf in World of Warcraft.

But who knows how much longer I'll be playing that game? Now that I have the hang of Dwarf Fortress-- I just started playing it a few weeks ago-- it's eating up all my time instead of WoW. I can't be as creative in a breathtaking 3D environment where you systematically just kill everything over and over.

I play both.

Yeah, I don't get out much.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Whilst taking maths my maths A-Level I refere to most of the letters and symbols as their DF items/creatures.

...I actually describe things in a DF style out loud and over the internet. I can't help it.

..both me and my girlfriend occasionally describe things in DF-style "Rowan was ecstatic lately, he did unspeakable things to a radiator lately". Usually at the least appropriate time.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
