@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

"Hey baby you wearing any thing under that beard?"

Oh, wait this isn't a dwarven pick up line thread? Drat.

Um, "When all else fails use magma."
"If magma fails, use more magma."
"If more magma fails clearly you didn't use enough magma."
"For !!SCIENCE!!"

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

If you accidentally lock the elves in the depot and wait until they're insane to capture them in cages and then lock the next group of elves in the depot and unleash the insane elves from their cages, that's still somehow your fault.

"This is a fortress.  All craftdwarfship is of varying quality with varying amounts of booze, vomit, and death.  It menaces with spikes of steel, is adorned with rings of magma, and is encrusted with giant toad leather.  On the fortress is an image of a Giant Toad and humans.  The humans are bowing before the Giant Toad.  This refers to Toady One the Great ascending to demigodhood in the year 2010.  Toady One the Great was associated with programming, dwarves, and general awesomeness.  On the fortress is an image of dwarves and humans.  The dwarves are cowering.  The humans are striking a menacing pose and laughing.  This refers to every fortress ever."

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.
