It's only a matter of time before Toady starts adding Dwarven fetishes.
Dwarves are already pretty kinky.  I had my (female) Dungeon Master show up in a cloak, leather gloves, leather high boots, and nothing else.  Never mind the ones that like beds, chains, tallow, whips, and lamprey for their suckers.  I think that adding explicit fetishes would be going overboard.

That's not kinky. Mine get turned on only wearing mud, blood, and vomit. A cloak would be a big improvement toward normalcy.

^^^ I think the whole point of the colors was to move away from explicitly numerical measures of progress.

Colors are explicitly numerical when you get right down to it, and it's a lot harder to tell what color something is than how many plus signs there are.

Or maybe something like [--------] and as you finish things [++++++--], though this looks cheesy. And the individual letters doesn't look much better either.  :'(

I see the point, though... maybe ROYGBIV it so that it's easier to see differences on different monitors?

I think that's the whole point.  Colors are explicitly numerical when you get down to it, but our perceptions of them aren't.  Toady might say to himself, "this feels mostly done," and assign it a darker shade of blue that just feels right.  When we see it, we might be able to compare it to the chart of possible colors and say "It's the fifth out of seven shades!" but that's no reason to think that Toady's done 71.429% of the coding on that particular feature.  I don't think Toady is counting the lines of code he's written and editted and comparing it to an estimated total of the lines that need to be coded for a particular feature to be complete, then cross-referencing it with a color coded list of fractions (though Toady is methodical to the point that I can't rule it out).  Selfishly, I'd of course prefer that he didn't take the time to do all that.  "I'm mostly done with this feature" is more than enough information for me.

No seriously as awesome a very detailed DF is i dont want to know everything everytime, its still interresting at times.
Actually, i think it makes the salt in the soup of personality, but many players dont want to know for what urists uses cuffs and a collar. So maybe a by the init file adjustable detail-level could be nice.

Sexual gender- and Race-preference is enought for the average player and most times you dont need to go into more detail. Sometimes on the other hand it could be very important for example if you break into the Bedroom of a sultan which does kinky stuff with his curtisan which you could use later against him. Or even better if you yourself become the curtisan to come near said sultan so you can disembowl kill him.
