Can a group of bodies share a spirit?
If so could it be used to handle the common people of a civ like kinnda a zeitgeist effect?

Also HIVE MINDS.

No! We can't have full steam ahead, steampunk's not implemented.

However, I would love to see mine carts to carry stone in, so a dwarf with a cart would move faster than a dwarf dragging the stone.

You know, I think charcoal and coke would probably be easier to make into an "always required" option if it came in stacks, and required amounts relative to the reaction temperature necessary.  Say, 1 lignite = 25 coke pieces, but you'd need 8 to 16 coke pieces for most reactions.  The amounts could be cut in half or by quarter for smelting via magma, or possibly reduced by a set amount (to account for the lack of a need to ignite and fuel the furnace manually).  It would even allow for the furnace operator job to have additional impact: higher skill means lower fuel requirements, down to some pre-determined larger-than-zero fraction of the default required fuel.

 Just something to consider...

Monty Python reference?

It may have had its arms and legs lopped off, but its now secreting a slime trail under its muscular, um belly, since the feet were lopped off.

hmm the black-knight would work if there are some nature spirit like beings that traverse darker roads. Thus they could control a zomby. If we get to this the zomby could hand out snarky comments about being dismembered.

Multiple souls would also beg the question how it is handled in the future. Will the souls have all the same memory for example? Or can one soul push another back into some kind of comatose state?

Actually, I think DF is more like the end boss in mass effect 2. Think about it.
