Out-of-Depth monsters are also a reminder that sometimes, the best option is to run, to another level if necessary. This is useful for me, since I tend to forget the 100% rule a bit too often.

I'm still annoyed that Unseen Horrors can show up as out of depth monsters, though. Short of having extra teleport scrolls/invisibility/SeeInv handy that early, you're 100% dead.

This is why Felid and Nagas are the two best races[Well, ONE reason].

Felid? Really?

(If it's sarcasm, I'm missing it because Nagas are actually a very strong race).

Nah, I just like Felids. They're relaxing, up until you turn a corner and die instantly. Even then, that has to happen a few times to really break the chill.

I'm pretty sure they removed the jump attack mechanic as a whole (You could get that ability from boots. Useful for if a quick escape is needed) back in 0.15 when they were trying to streamline the game by removing a bunch of interesting, but minor features. Since they wanted to remove the entire mechanic, felids lost it as well.

Other mechanics that disappeared this way were player clinging and statue disintegration

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Wait, can't you still disint statues?

In DC:SS, orange crystal statues dis-int you! (They drain Int.)

Gozag is good on a decent character.  On a hard character, if your first shop isn't a good one, you can get more and more behind the curve as you have to keep spending your money on food shops, but you're too weak to quickly clear floors and get gold and permafood, so you need to buy more food shops, etc...

I wish gozag just offered food for sale, rather than making you buy a food shop.  I think it would fix that problem for weaker combos.  They'd still have less money for items, but at least the two things wouldn't be connected anymore.

Jerk. :P

I've ran a few of them already, so if no one picks it up I'll just do it again.

...Which means no one is going to pick it up because I've basically volunteered. I'll just cut out the middle man and get a topic up sometime tomorrow.

Playing 0.19 to prepare for the tournament.

...

And it is REALLY easy. Started up a straightforward DrFE of Veh[Apply Fire Storm, then apply additional Fire Storm] and breezed through the first ten levels of the Dungeon. Finding an elec whip on D:2 helped, but I encountered almost no dangerous creatures[Besides Grinder, who went down to Sticky Flame quite quickly] until D:11[Which had Slime Creatures]. Lizard Geckos/Frilled Lizards made up a disproportionate amount of spawns, even for a few levels after they were no longer a threat. Even with ONE tele scroll drop, I still only needed to use two consumables[One of which was the tele scroll, alas]. Maybe I've somehow improved after not playing for months?

Odds are still good I'll get dunked by Caustic Shrikes or something, but it'll probably be a cakewalk up until then.

I'm considering participation, but have a hate/hate relationship with online Crawl. So I need to check first if there were any changes...

Did...they add the two Gods? :D (The dancing/killy/melee God and the Memories/Single-Ally one?) I would LOVE to blaze through with the latter!

Edit: Found it myself
