I tried to register for their forums but they require an email and mailinator wasn't receiving the activation email even when I game them alternate email account names.
Also, I ended up with no internet for the last ~6 days, so I played a
lot of Crawl. I tried a few different builds:
-Merfolk Skald: I can't quite figure this one out - I'm always too weak in melee to make it past the beginning of Lair even with a Spectral Weapon spear and all buffs active
-Demigod Fighter: Mostly a test for how well I do on a godless run. I died mid-Lair iirc.
-Deep Dwarf Fighter: I got all the way to the Depths with this. I used to have a lot more trouble with not losing HP, but I've learned to limit the number of enemies attacking me at once. In the end, though I got a few too many powerful enemies around me for constant healing potions/staves to save me.
-Demonspawn Fighter: Good for Sprint, and also good for the main game. My 15-rune + 1 zig win with it:

I got really lucky, through. An overview of my game:
-Found Autumn Katana in the early Dungeon; however, it didn't become my endgame weapon
-Got gifted Wyrmbane (!) on Lair:6. Once I had my basic skills trained up, I switched over to Polearms just to use it - except for a few extremely unlikely randarts, it's the best weapon in the game
-Until the Zig at the end, I had lots of extra healing potions because of the heal-on-kill mutation.
-I tried to switch to TSO before Tomb, but demonspawns are evil
. So I stayed with Oka.
-Near the end of Pan, I had all the melee skills where I wanted them, so I branched out into Necromancy. As it turns out, raising zombies and creating ghosts out of enemies clear some of the denser zig levels extremely well. Control Undead also helped cause some chaos on Tomb/undead-themed levels, but not quite enough - I had to skip one or two of them in the later Zig to avoid an annoying death. The constant flaying + smite-targeted damage was too much to deal with.
-I tried to Apport the Orb of Zot across Zot:5. I realized that this no longer skips one floor of the orb run when I had to kill a Pan lord.
