Monster Musume anime just started a few weeks ago, how much of a fad could it have caused? If anything, Monster Musume got adapted because of the fad, it's not the cause.

The fad actually started because of porno to my knowledge...

You can still see the sort of effect as the characters are sexualized/beautified versions of typical monsters without the sort of overt dangerousness attached.

Hora hora, ah ha ha. And not entirely, but that's definitely been a substantial motivator. Not complaining, oh ho ho.

Definitely agreed on the idol thing, though. At least a naga provides for interesting logistical speculation.

I think we just need some more monster boys, then it can balance out.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I still feel as though it picked up, but it might just be a placebo.

This new one looks very original:
http://myanimelist.net/manga/70775/Youkai_Shoujo
It's literally just titled "Monster Girl"

I think we just need some more monster boys, then it can balance out.

Engaged to the unidentified has one of those as the love interest.

Doesn't Kawata ShoujouI'mtoolazytochecktherealname count? The one with all of the shipgirls? They look pretty mecha musume to me.

Kancolle. Katawa Shoujo is waaaaaaay different, yo.

Also I wouldn't consider Kancolle to be mecha. They're girls that wear ship parts. Basically meat with guns.

As opposed to robots who happen to look like girls who wear metal parts? The difference seems pretty arbitrary to me.

The difference is as obvious as it is profound. One can have rocket boobs.

There is a difference with a girl that has metal parts of a ship and a girl that turns into a ship and a ship that turns into a girl. It's not schematics but a very important distinction.

In some fandom depiction of Kancolle, the girls can turn into the full ship so they technically count.

Weellllll Robot Girls Z is doing monthly mini episodes right now as its "second season". Actually pretty funny, if lewd at times. Nice references to the source material.

... okay, someone out there that's more familiar with this wuxia-type manga stuff. Fantasy martial arts sorta' thing. Can you, like. Tell me. If this incest thing is going to be common? Or am I just getting unlucky? This duoluo thing is the second one in a row with a fairly major incest plot point going on.

It's almost amazing, even. One of the cousinhumper pair in this one has actually been keeping his distance, not wanting to get involved, etc., because, you know, the people in question are apparently fairly close cousins and he's like, yo', family, no. The only reason they got close to begin with is they didn't actually know they were related for a while (family heirlooms, people thought dead, etc.) Everyone else involved, including their best friend/former love triangle member, their students, random people in the surrounding vicinity, are like, "Get to screwing!" Recalcitrant dude is just, "What the hell people!?" But everyone's like, "No! Fuck now!" And I'm just kinda' boggling at it. At least the last one had the mild veneer of the sister in the sisterscrewing duo being adopted. This one's just straight up, "Nope! Bloodkin. Make babies, damn you!"

Is there something about punch magic that invalidates inbreeding? Is this a thing in wuxia lore?

That really really sounds odd. Weirdest comment in a while.

The thing is that Wuxia is... well... quite a bit more historically accurate then most genres (albeit exaggerated to hell and back) at least when compared to most depictions.

So... Yes expect plots about inbreeding and stuff.
