Oh uh Neo sorry to break this to you, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't skid. Wouldn't have room in its feet for the parts it would need for that anyways. You were correct in your assumption the unit was meant for space, and one of its features is that it was meant to be equipped with many other modular parts all over its body that changes its shape quite a bit. ...and give it proper limbs in some cases.

E: If you haven't noticed, I'm kinda' of the opinion that the greatest weakness of the gundam shows is the gundam. It would be infinitely better if it was the Zaku shows :3

An opinion that is shared with many other people, apparently. Including me, because I think that the Gundamn is the weakest part of the original show. Having it kick an unreasonable ton of ass while all of the other characters/mechs are gimped to make it look better gets old fast. And you're right, it's more of a Gundam fetish than a module fetish. The symptoms are pretty much identical though.

I'm sure that a Gundam show could handle their Gundam in a matter that I'd enjoy and be happy with. But that show is not the original series, and I haven't seen any other Gundam series, so...

I think a series centered around a GM Sniper team during the One Year War would be pretty cool to be honest, any series that moves away from the Gundam as a central focus has been pretty cool so far (mostly referring to 08th MS Team, and most of MS Igloo here). Then again I guess its not really Gundam if there is no Gundam

... I can get behind bulkier gundams, too, honestly. Much of my problem with them is almost all of them look so damn flimsy ;_;

S'like. The Physalis is sorta' okay, ferex. But even a Zaku II looks like it could tank almost as much damage, even if it can't. When you look like you can barely take more of a hit than a ruddy GM it just leaves everything up to plotanium and dodging and... well, the first is sad, and the second makes your enemies (and thus, your accomplishments) less impressive, y'know?

And I guess... I'unno, more punchy in general? Less exploding machines and one-shots, more mangled wrecks. Stuff besides the gundams should be able to take battle damage without keeling over. Just finished watching ep 18 of Build Fighters, which is, like. Step in right direction -- still exploding machine, but much mangling before hand. _{gimme some grit, damnit and maybe a "The War Without Gundam" season or two}

I know some of the series are better about it than others, just noting it's the sorta' thing I'd like to see more of.

Well to admit Zaku's tend to be made of Tinfoil. It isn't their design's fault.
