Hey just because Gundam suffers from what I used to call Gundam Seed Ending Syndrome...

Refering to when an anime or anything else where people tend to almost never die... all of a sudden start dying in droves because it is an ending

This is most mecha anime.
You'd think writers would learn to spread it out more realistically by now.

Pff why use SEED as the name for the syndrome. Zeta did it first. SEED doesn't deserve the honor


Oh wait you said that in the show barely anyone dies up til then. Nevermind.

Also, they said " whenever I start liking a character", so Zeta pulls a short straw here too.

I also said Recent Gundam series and elaborated in a later post that SEED is where I draw the recent Line.
See Gundam Series before Seed it doesn't happen that way, SEED and beyond, without fail I like a character, they die.
And it's strangely only with Gundam as a series.
It just makes it hard to watch front-to-back when you can't pick a character to follow their story out of fear your liking them as such is a reaper's embrace. And literally, it's the very episode I see after I begin liking them that they die.

But anyways, I haven't given up on Gundam, I'm just saying that I have trouble finishing the recent releases due to that.

I did NOT expect them to kill off AARON in the 5th episode. Even if he DID come back as a Titan afterwards, which I was totally expecting. This show has balls. Balls of solid.... titanium.

Wow. I wasn't expecting it to push the nostalgia buttons that hard, but you're right Furtuka. New series to follow get.

On a whim I watched this old anime called Mad Bull, it's an action-comedy about New York cops and holy shit I really like this somehow. There's lots of killing, a guy literally gets his head blown off in the first two minutes, and the show isn't shy at all about it's explicit content. There's always stuff happening, all the bad guys are completely evil and they all have guns (and the good guys aren't so good either), and the dubbing is so over the top it's fantastic, reminds me a lot of Ghost Stories.

It's got this weird mix of stark reality and pulp novel action (the main character cops kill people and no one bats an eye) that I really love. It's also extremely lewd, there's few moments where someone isn't naked, sex isn't happening, or being talked about. It's really hard to describe what's good about the show without it making it sound incredibly shallow, but it really really isn't. Or I'm just crazy. :v
