It honestly strikes me as kinda' weird. Hasn't most of the anime with the word samurai in it that made it overseas been pretty decent? Kenshin's dub name was silly, but the show itself was alright. Then you've got Champloo, Afro, and Pizza Cats, at which point my memory stops working. Mostly what I'd call quality of one sort or another.

Those are the only examples I can think of as well, and none of them are terrible. It might just be an excuse, though.

Shogun Assassin (1980). That movie was godly. Will renew faith in samurai genre.

Hmm, that was the dub version, all we could get when I first watched it, I guess now I can look for the original cut versions, that should be fun.

Ishuukan Friends is pretty nice.
And Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to is actually quite amusing, even though it's just otaku pandering.

Good season indeed.
Now I need to continue with JoJo's.

Vacation started today, catching up on the new shows.

Most new/original shows this season so far leave me with a "meh" feeling. Selector Infected Wixoss, Akuma no Riddle, Captain Earth, so far at least have some sort of interesting thing going on. Gonna pick up a couple of the school/romcom ones too, but nothing stands out.

Kenzen Robo Daimidaler is the over the top trainwreck of the season. But that's just the effect they're going for. Giant Robot powered by Hi-Ero particles (The MC gains these particles by boob-groping), fighting penguin robots from the evil Penguin Empire. It's from the Highschool DxD director, and every bit as retarded as it sounds.

Then, Black Bullet aired a few hours ago. Bye bye "Meh!" - i watched the opening teaser and am now watching the OP. Entire feeling is "OMG this shit is gonna rock!". Now, it's most likely going to go to shit real soon, but that was the best opening scene of any anime this season.
