Yeah, Bleach and Naruto are pretty close to the end.

One Piece still has a very long way to go though, since apparently its about half done according to the author.

Given that Negima is basically "What if there was an anime where every single stereotypical cliché female character existed in the same school?" and several more have been invented since then including "Jail bait psychopath girl" I wonder if they will add more characters.

Heck the sidekick from Card Captor Sakura is basically in it.

This is like when the creator of DBZ tried to sink his own ship with the Buu Saga.

He's referring to how the editors for Negima forced Akamatsu to make it a harem comedy, resulting in him faking them out by transitioning it to the shonen fighter genre a few arcs in.


Also judging by the lack of harem antics and the amount general shonen fighteryness I'm seeing in the first chapter. Yes, yes it appears so

This is like when the creator of DBZ tried to sink his own ship with the Buu Saga.

The whole point of Negima was that it was a shonen adventure/fighting series disguised as a harem comedy. Hell, you should be able to tell how seriously he was taking the "harem romance" side of it from the single fact that the axis of the harem is a typical shonen protagonist. Not to mention the fact that something like a third of the harem turn out to be supernatural fighters as well, and that the rest gain superpowers over the course of the series.

Lets just say it sort of enters the same arena as the Dorothy battle in Marchen Awakens romance. It isn't Tentacle rape, but you are meant to treat it like such.

Honestly, the whole thing with Chachamaru and winding her up was so blatant that I can't believe for an instant that it wasn't (at least in part) a joke. That wasn't "implied", that was "three page fold-out spread", and it was absolutely hilarious in context. Granted, hardly deep, but shallow amusement has a place.
