Ugh, couldn't go one episode without somebody having to save Ichigo now can we?  Urahara's explanation about the Soul King's existence doesn't make much sense either <_<  Soul Society seems to cooperate just fine without a ruling body besides Captain Commander Yamamoto.  People train and goof off forever and kill hollows occasionally and get free room and board for eternity.  What's not to like?

Well it somewhat makes sense as in a way that he is more of a symbol than anything else and Aizen wanted to slap him in the face (and possibly murder him) just to show that it can be done

Ichigo has lost his powers though I'm willing to bet if they continue more than a few episodes he's just gonna get them back somehow. Probably via getting some other shinigami to stab him again.
