Can you describe Angelic Layer for me?
Clamp does Pokemon, but with dolls and robotics.
Can you describe Angelic Layer for me?
Well a Quiet Nice Girl named Hikaru discovered that with magical technodolls named Angels she can active her Mary Sue powers and win every fight ever! (except one)
It goes through the story with increasingly improbable accomplishments and how she sucks without the doll until she finally breaks reality.
But in all seriousness it is about a girl named Hikaru who enters the "Angelic Layer" competition where you fight with dolls that are controlled by your brain and her adventure. I watched it after seeing a bit of it somewhere else where it seemed interesting. Despite seeing like it will be over the top anime fights there rather tame in that respect.
Well, was it a good show?

Well, I finally took the time to finish the Fist of the North Star OVA. As always, Kenshiro is an unstoppable, infallible man-god that noone can compare to. What's interesting though is that the third and final episode of the OVA barely had any Kenshiro in it, it was mostly focused on a very-obviously-gonna-die side character as he leads a holy crusade against the big bad. The religiously fanatical people storming that castle was the most genuinely creepy moment in anime I've seen in a long time. It was creepy because they never stopped chanting their false god's name, and 'died smiling' if that makes any sense.
Then Kenshiro shows up and steals the show, of course. It was an overly bloody and graphic gore-fest, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
